Program Description
Uganda, known as the “Pearl of Africa,” is one of the most biodiverse countries in the World. Its stunning landscapes are matched by the rich and diverse Ugandan culture. The KSUganda study abroad program examines the social determinants of health and explores interdisciplinary strategies to build capacity among vulnerable populations. Over a period of 17 days, students from diverse majors and disciplinary backgrounds will explore the rich cultural, economic, and environmental diversity represented in Uganda. Students will have the opportunity to engage in research and service-learning projects aimed at better understanding and addressing social and environmental stressors, as well as social entrepreneurship intervention strategies.
